Our professional team of HR and Health and Safety Consultants provide support to hundreds of SMEs each year. The BeyondHR team brings clarity and perspective to a range of people management, recruitment and health and safety issues. All our consultants have vast experience of providing practical hands-on business support on matters such as employment contracts, drafting tailored policies and procedures, disciplinary, dismissal, workplace investigations, employee grievance, absence management issues, risk assessments and health and safety policies.
Neil started his career in HR with a Corporate Wear manufacturer before moving to the Builders Merchant, JP Corry in 2005. As HR Manager with JP Corry, Neil was responsible for the HR function across the Company’s 18 branches across the Island of Ireland. In 2012 Neil joined Personnel & Training Services working with a wide variety of clients across all sectors. In addition, Neil has also held a Directorship of a Belfast based charitable organization (2011-2013) and was a committee member for the NI Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Neil’s experience is supported by a BA Degree in HRM, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, NEBOSH General Certificate and membership of the CIPD. In his spare time Neil is a keen golfer and also enjoys time spent on the beaches of the North Coast.
Neil McLeese
Helen is joint owner and Managing Director of Beyond HR and has been working in the area of human resources for 20+ years now. Helen’s career in HR began with Valence Technology BV before moving to Mivan Limited in 2001 where she was responsible for strategic and operational HR across the business which required extensive travel to the Company’s many international offices. In 2007 Helen moved into HR consultancy with a focus in employee relations where she worked for 7 years before joining up with Neil McLeese to rebrand Personnel & Training Services as BeyondHR. Helen’s experience is supported by a BA Degree, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, NEBOSH General Certificate, MII Mediator Training and membership of the CIPD. Helen Hardy
Before joining BeyondHR in 2011 as a HR Consultant, Jill worked in inhouse HR roles within the Utilities sector (Phoenix Natural Gas) and the global drinks industry (Diageo). After joining BeyondHR Jill became Senior Consultant in 2016 and is now the Managing Consultant within the team. Jill has practical, hands on experience in dealing with all aspects of the HR / employee life cycle however, her specialisms include advising on disciplinary, grievance and Bullying & Harrassment issues. Outside of work, while living on the north coast, Jill spends a lot of her time open water swimming and golfing.
Jill Mills
With 15 years of HR experience (10 of which in HR consultancy) Natalie started her career off in the retail sector after graduating with a first class honours degree in Business Information Management and Human Resource Management. She then worked her way up from HR advisor to Head of HR for a well known Motor Retail Company in Scotland supporting the CEO and Senior Leadership team In their people making decisions. Now supporting clients and leading the team in Scotland to support startups, SME's and larger organisations Natalie enjoys giving commercial HR advice and helping business owners make good people decisions. Natalie Is a member of the CIPD, a qualified Workplace Mediator registered with the Scotland Mediation Network, and a committee member of Scottish Women In Business. In her spare time Natalie likes to eat rather than do the cooking!
Natalie O’Hare
Cormac has more than 20 years’ experience in Senior Account Management and Business Development roles, most of which was gained at YELL, Citation and Diageo. Cormac has a BA Honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Glamorgan, South Wales. Cormac’s role involves identifying new markets and new business leads with support of marketing, nurturing, and developing relationships with new and existing clients, generating new ways to reach existing markets, researching service offerings to better meet the needs of existing markets and providing specialist advice on all BeyondHR services. In his spare time Cormac Is a volunteer coach at All Saints GAC looking after the U17 Boys team and the Senior Ladies team. He Is a keen runner and has completed 5 marathons…none of them particularly well.
Cormac McGreevey
Helen started her career in a large UK based retail Company before moving to HR consultancy. She joined BeyondHR in October 2016. Previous to this Helen was for many years the manager for the delivery of employment services in Ireland, Scotland and the North of England for a UK consultancy firm. Helen has experience of all aspects of the HR consultancy service from the preparation of employment documentation to employment advice, training, consultancy and representation at Industrial Tribunal and Fair Employment Tribunal. Helen has formed close relationships with many clients over the past 5 years who really value her advice and guidance when dealing with complex HR situations. Helen enjoys walking, running, cycling and aerobics and is also a keen gardener.
Helen O’Brien
Deirdre joined BeyondHR from a well-known hospitality business in January 2018. For more than 25 years Deirdre held a number of senior HR Management roles across Great Britain and Northern Ireland within the hospitality industry. Her experience is supported by an honours degree and she is a Fellow of the CIPD. Deirdre is experienced in all aspects of employment law with her areas of expertise including performance management, employee relations/generalist HR, and recruitment and selection. Our clients are delighted to avail of Deirdre’s Consultancy experience across a range of issues, the relationship that is built with these clients is what leads to our clients forming long term partnerships with BeyondHR. Outside of work Deirdre has a keen interest in entertaining, walking and travel, her favourite country to visit is France and favourite city is New York.
Deirdre McDermott
Joanne holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies and a Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management from the Ulster University and has held membership with the CIPD since 2004. Joanne gained a breadth of knowledge across the private and public sector before commencing employment with BeyondHR in 2017. Joanne quickly became a key member of the team forming close working relationships with a number of clients who rely on her for advice and guidance across a range of HR activities. Joanne has a keen interest in the areas of Recruitment and Performance Management but has also assisted many clients dealing with grievances and working towards reducing the level of sickness and absence in the workplace. In her spare time Joanne enjoys spending time at the North Coast where she enjoys long walks on the beach with the family.
Joanne McCormick
Laura has more than 15 years’ experience in the HR industry, most of which was spent in the HR department at Henderson Group. She is a member of CIPD with a BA degree in Business Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management which she obtained from Queens University. Laura has experience across a wide range of HR areas including complex employee relations cases, absence management and employee wellbeing. Outside of work Laura enjoys family days at the beach, eating out and walking.
Laura Nolan
With 15 years of HR experience in both in house and a consultancy basis, Denise started her career in the Retail sector after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Information Technology and Human Resource Management. Denise has experience across various sectors and a large well known consultancy business, with a passion for employee relations and problem solving to help business owners and managers manage day to day people issues, whilst staying compliant with current legislation. Outside of work Denise enjoys family walks and days out and going to the gym.
Denise Donnelly
Vicki is a Technical Member of IOSH who has over 10 years’ experience within the health and safety profession. Prior to her current consultancy role, she gained experience in a variety of sectors including Research & Development, manufacturing, construction and engineering. She is experienced in ensuring legal compliance through auditing, carrying out risk assessments, COSHH Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and policy writing. Her qualifications include NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH certificates in Managing Safety and Risk Assessment, and BOHS P405 Certificate in Management of Asbestos in Buildings. She has completed ISO Internal Auditor and Train the Trainer courses. Having a keen interest in Health and Safety, she was a successful participant in the NISG Health and Safety Quiz on a number of occasions. She was part of a team, representing her company, who won the Northern Ireland competition on three occasions and the all-Ireland final once. Outside of work Vicki likes to travel, both within Ireland and further afield, but her main interest is baking. She enjoys making bespoke cakes and cupcakes.
Vicki McClean
Lynn joined our team in January 2018 following more than 15 years at JTI. Lynn is a highly competent and experienced business support administrator and has experience of providing a range of business support services. She has extensive IT knowledge and provides professional service for both colleagues and clients.
Lynn Elliott
With 17 years of HR & EL experience both on-house and on a consultancy basis, Laura started her career in the Hospitality sector. After graduating with a degree in Hospitality Management, Laura moved into HR gaining a post graduate degree in Human Resource Management and a Specialist Paralegal qualification in Employment Law. Laura has experience across a wide range of sectors and has a keen interest in employee relations and absence management. Outside of work Laura enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog and travelling.
Laura Bannister
Orlaith joined the team in November 2021 as our Marketing Executive, she had been working as a Marketing Executive for a bathroom company and prior to this worked in an Advertising Agency as an Account Executive working with a variety of top Northern Ireland businesses. Orlaith graduated from Ulster University in July 2021 with a degree in BSc Hons Marketing. To stay on top of changing trends, Orlaith is undertaking social media and digital courses including Google Digital Garage – Fundamentals of Digital Marketing and utilising LinkedIn Learning to enhance our LinkedIn presence further. Orlaith focuses on content generation and Social Media marketing. Thinking creatively and strategically to develop content to be shared across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook. In her spare time, Orlaith enjoys playing Gaelic football and going to the gym, as well as meeting friends for cocktails or coffee. Over lockdown Orlaith found interest in photography and hiking
Orlaith McAlister
Lauren Buick joined the team in May 2022 as our Trainee HR Advisor. Lauren is graduating from Ulster University in July 2022 with a First-Class Honours degree in BSc Hons Human Resource Management and is a member of CIPD. Lauren completed placement year within a large public sector organisation in the HR department where she gained invaluable experience, dealing with employee relations, reviewing, and updating policies. While completing final year at University, Lauren gained further experience working part time in the HR department of Ryobi Aluminium Casting UK Ltd. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys travelling, taking her dogs for walks, and catching up with friends.
